Mist of Death Spellbook Foundation Update

Mist of Death Spellbook Foundation Update

This update is about making the spellbook make more sense. We reviewed every live spell, not only the biggest UE-style spells, and rebuilt the combat rhythm around vocation identity, mana pressure, positioning, and manual hunting.

The live spellbook now has 212 reviewed entries after three new identity spells were added. Some spells are fast fillers, some are expensive burst tools, and some are commitment or control spells that should be used with better timing.

We also polished several signature casting animations. You may see small mixed vis, flam, holy, death, ice, or earth accents on key spells, but the main damage identity stays the same. These are visual rhythm cues, not new full-screen damage pulses.

Vocation identity

Vocation Direction
Sorcerer Fire, energy, and death burst. Sorcerers should hit the hardest with magic, but pay more mana and risk more when committing.
Druid Earth, ice, nature control, healing, and safer AoE. Druids should control hunts better, not outburst Sorcerers.
Paladin Holy and distance pressure. Paladins should reward target choice, kiting, and ranged positioning.
Knight Close physical damage, cleave, survival timing, and weapon-scaling pressure. Knights should be strongest when they commit up close.

How to use the new rhythm

Vocation Suggested spell flow
Sorcerer Keep pressure with fast energy/fire fillers, then spend mana on Warlord Teleport, Dragon Bone, or Strong Energy Ball Strike when monsters are grouped safely. Save Mighty Clean for a commitment moment.
Druid Control first with Root Snare, then follow with Glacial Bloom, Ground Shake, or other earth/ice tools. Your strength is safer hunting, slows, healing, and keeping the fight shaped.
Paladin Mark or focus the dangerous target, kite while distance attacks work, then use holy AoE like Spinning Lights or Fallen Holy Globes when monsters line up.
Knight Step in close, hold the pack, rotate cleave/filler pressure, then commit with Ultimate Berserk, Wrath, or Execute when the timing is right.

Important spell changes

Spell Words Player-facing change
Root Snare terra laqueus New Druid control spell. A focused earth root for manual hunting and safer positioning.
Glacial Bloom exevo frigo vita New Druid ice control burst. Smaller and more tactical than a room-clear spell.
Radiant Mark exori san signo New Paladin ranged holy commitment spell that scales with distance fighting.
Warlord Teleport exevo mort vis Now fits Sorcerer progression more clearly instead of overlapping the Druid spell path.
Dragon Bone exevo flam mort Now Sorcerer-only, keeping fire/death burst as Sorcerer identity.
Strong Ice Strike / Ultimate Ice Strike exori gran frigo / exori max frigo Now Druid-owned so ice damage supports the Druid path.
Terra Strike exori tera Moved to Druid to support earth/nature identity.
Physical Strike exori moe ico Moved to Knight and now scales like a weapon-based physical strike.
Energy Leak / Strong Energy Leak mas vis diffusus / gran mas vis diffusus Still shared custom spells, but now cost more and fit tactical or burst timing instead of cheap spam.
Silence / Valeaxe Execution sasxe / exevo valeaxe Still shared custom tools, but now treated as high-cost commitment spells with much stronger timing requirements.

What this means in-game

  • Sorcerers should feel like the strongest raw magic burst vocation.
  • Druids should feel safer, more controlled, and more nature/ice/earth focused.
  • Paladins should feel more ranged and holy-focused instead of copying mage screen-clears.
  • Knights should feel stronger up close, with better weapon-based identity.
  • Shared custom spells remain in the game, but they should no longer erase each vocation's weakness.
  • The Vocations page now includes practical spell-chain guidance for each vocation.
